Duxbury duo for Trojans

Thornhill Trojans Under-8s entertained King Cross Park on Sunday.

Kieran Duxbury scored the first of his two tries after support from Scott Walker and Shea Midwood.

Oliver Brown won the magic moment award for his defence. Top tackler was James Blakeway who also scored a try.

Kyle Lister, Brandon Harris and Aiden Fellows worked hard in attack and defence. Kye Hodgson and Josh Barclay played well.

Ryan Mitchell crossed from close range. Oliver Robson was MoM for his unselfish work and good passing. Harris scored a late try but King Cross ran out 7-5 winners.

The Under-9s entertained Dewsbury Celtic and both teams played with great heart and spirit as 17 tries were scored in the game.

Strong running and quick passing saw magic moment winner George March bag four tries while Asim Collomosse was MoM and Reece Fisher top tackler.

There were also two tries each for Rye Ward and Kurt Hodgson.

Great breaks by Ben Moorhouse, in his best game to date, saw him take the parents’ award. Powerful Jake Buckley was held inches short of the line as it ended 40-28 to Thornhill.
