Duo leave Dewsbury Rams to join Batley Bulldogs

AYDEN Faal and George Flanagan have left Dewsbury Rams to move across the valley and join Batley Bulldogs for the start of next season.

Centre Faal, 25, scored eight tries for Dewsbury this season and was one of the stand-out performers for the Rams but he will make the switch to Batley after agreeing terms to sign up with John Kear’s men.

Hooker Flanagan made the switch from Batley to Dewsbury 12 months ago and proved to be a popular figure among Rams supporters in his solitary season at Tetley’s Stadium.

He inspired Dewsbury to a Boxing Day derby victory over the Bulldogs and bagged a brilliant hat-trick of tries in the Rams 32-24 victory over Swinton Lions on July 22.

Both will be keen to see how their new club get on in the Co-operative Championship Play-offs, with Batley travelling to Sheffield Eagles in the first round this Sunday.
