DEWSBURY crashed to a heavy defeat at the Shay after turning in a below-par, error-strewn performance.
Halifax took the lead after only 54 seconds after Dewsbury had sent the kick-off out on the full, captain Sean Penkywicz crossing and stand-off Graham Holroyd landing the conversion for a 6-0 lead.

Hide AdHalifax scored again on 22 minutes when Rob Worrincy pounced on a Holroyd kick after a fumble by Rams’ winger Andy Smith to make it 10-0.
Loose forward Sam Barlow then bundled his way over in the corner and Holroyd converted from touch.
Dewsbury finally got on the scoreboard when back rower Elliott Cosgrove scored on the half-hour.Dominic Brambani kicking the conversion.
Halifax made it 22-6 just before half-time when centre Dylan Nash went in and Holroyd kicked the goal.

Hide AdIt was all Halifax as they pulled further clear and dominated the second half.
The floodgates were opened for the home side. Penkywicz scored his second try.
Paul Smith, Nash, Barlow (two) and Miles Greenwood all crossing without reply from Dewsbury.
It was only in the final quarter of an hour that the visitors produced a late flourish. They stepped up the pressure as Halifax stepped off the gas and were finally rewarded.
