Dewsbury Moor girls triumph at Rhinos tournament

Dewsbury Moor Girls won the Leeds Rhinos Foundation five-a-side tournament.

They drew 1-1 against Shaw Cross Sharks B team but went on to beat West Leeds 4-0, Oulton Raidettes 3-0 and Shaw Cross A team 1-0 .

The Moor girls showed good skill and their fitness and speed proved key factors in their tournament success.

The winning team, under the guidence of coach Shane Hussain, were Catlin Beevers, Kya Wilkinson, Ruby Enright, Courtney McCann, Abbie Harrison and Lacie Bruines.

Dewsbury Moor’s winter team are due to return to Pennine League action on Saturday when they travel to Wortley Dragons in Division Four East.

Moor lie sixth in the table, two points behind Wortley with two games in hand, and victory on Saturday will see them leapfrog the Dragons.

Moor’s last game saw them earn a 24-6 victory over Drighlington on January 9, while Wortley have ot played since December 12, when they earned a 32-24 victory at home to Beeston Broncos.
