Derby could prove crucial in race for title

HOPTON Mills will be out to put a spoke in Moorlands Central Yorkshire League Division One title hopes when the leaders make a short trip across Mirfield tomorrow.

Moorlands are just two points clear of Ossett with four matches to play but Mills could provide a tricky test in what will be the last league derby between the two.

Moorlands are departing for the Huddersfield League at the end of the season and will be eager to seal the title in their final season in the CYL.

Ossett will have a keen eye on proceedings in what could be a pivotal day and they entertain lowly Wakefield Thornes A.

Ossett are also flying the CYL flag when they meet South Kirby in the Yorkshire Council Play-offs Supplementary Final at Hunslet Nelson on Sunday, which also sees the re-arranged Heavy Woollen Cup final between Wrenthorpe and Townville at Liversedge.
