Heaton reached 277-3, which improved on the previous competition record of 252-4 set by Pudsey Congs in the 2014 final against Woodlands.

It is also just one run short of the highest total recorded in international cricket, the 278-3 set by Afghanistan against Ireland and the 278-4 made by the Czech Republic against Turkey, both in 2019.

Skipper Ben Kohler-Cadmore led the way with 91 from just 37 balls as he dominated an opening stand of 132 with Gary Fellows (76 from 45) and David Stiff then added a thumping 86 not out from only 26 with 10 sixes and four fours.

Batley's batsmen were unable to replicate their opponents' efforts and Mohammed Bhoola (28) was their top scorer in a total of 134-6. Spinner Callum Bethel picked up 5-19 as Hanging Heaton recorded a 143-run win.
