It was a close fight, with both men landing clean shots in the early stages but Cheema took control and controlled the third round with fast hands and good timing to earn the decision and set up a semi-final in Newcastle.

Cheema was crowed Yorkshire champion and then defeated Duncan Edwards in Mansfield before his success over Everton Red Triangle boxer Alfie Duncan last week set up a semi-final spot.
