Celtic U16s progress to National Cup semis

Dewsbury Celtic Under-16s produced a terrific display to defeat Ince Rose Bridge 36-8 in the National Cup quarter-final.

Celtic wore their new kit, sponsored by Crown Decorating Centres, in their quarter-final tie and they can now look forward to a semi appearance.

Dewsbury Celtic Under-10s gave a great second half performance with tries from Jordan Hirst and James Oldroyd, holding Dewsbury Moor to only two tries.

Opposition MoM was Wesley Bruines, top tackler and MoM was Joe Mitchell while best effort went to Jake Sykes.

Birstall Victoria Under-14s had an impressive 40-22 win at Lock Lane.

Coaches and players MoM Jack Lawford drove the Vic forward and topped the tackle count.

Parents MoM went to two try winger Alex Stockwell, while full-back Matty Ward and centre Jacob Fozzard also crossed for a brace each.

Kane Bedford scored the pick of Birstall’s tries, dummying to the line after good work from Alex Hollingworth , George Stone and Callum Roberts.

Bedford drove over for a second, while Roberts completed the win with four goals.

Shaw Cross Sharks Under-8s continued their impressive form at Sherburn Bears.

Most improved player Nathan Smith scored two tries and had a third ruled out after a length of the field run.

Amir Kadir and Kai Gurvitch also scored two each, while Joe Wood got the other.

Coaches MoM Connor Kaye had his most impressive game to date, top tackler and parents MoM was Nathan Littlewood, while Lloyd Lyman-Chapman took opposition MoM.

Thornhill Trojans Under-8s maintained their superb form continues with another top performance against Eastmoor Dragons.

There were debuts for coaches awards winners Henry Wood and Sam Rayner.

Top tackler Oliver Brown, Dylan Harpin and Brook Bedford led the defence, while tries came from Henry Wood, Josh Barclay (two) and a hat-trick for birthday boy Kye Hodgson.

Strong running from Scott Walker led to further tries for magic moment winner Kyle Lister and Brandon Samuel. Double MoM Bailey Lee also scored twice.

The Trojans Under-10s faced a tough game against Featherstone Lions.

Rye Ward was top tackler and opposition MoM in a great display, Jake Buckley won coaches award, MoM was awarded to debutant Brandon Hargreaves, Zak Harrod shone in his first game, while Ben Pritchard’s brilliant one-on-one tackle saw him scoop magic moment in only his second appearance.
