Celtic grind out success

DEWSBURY Celtic dug deep to seal a 14-12 success at East Leeds in Yorkshire League Division Two last Saturday.

Celtic, in their first game for nine weeks, displayed strong defence, with Joe Edwards, Ryan Ginnelly,Tom Kilroy and Josh West to the fore as the first half remained 0-0.

After the break strong running from Terry Powell, Danny Buckley, Matty Shaw and Matthew Bailey paid off as Tom Norris scored an unconverted try at the corner. East Leeds replied with a converted try to take the lead before Norris scored his second try, converted by Niki Crabtree, to see Celtic 10-6 ahead.

Celtic added a crucial third try before the hosts’ pressure brought a last minute converted score but Celtic stood firm to triumph.
