BREAKING NEWS: Kirklees Council close sports pitches
KIRKLEES have taken the decision to close all Council managed sports pitches after the heavy rainfall this week.
A statement on Kirklees’ decision to postpone all football and rugby matches held on the council’s pitches this weekend, said: “While the weekend weather is forecast to be dry, we are not confident that ground conditions will allow for the pitches to be cut and marked out without causing significant damage to the playing surface, particularly after such heavy rainfall. As such, the decision has been made to close the pitches for the weekend.”
