Dewsbury's Amaar Akbar takes unbeaten pro boxing record up to eight
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Akbar was quickly back in the ring after a win in September and showcased his skills in a unanimous points decision victory over the durable and more experienced Mykhailo Sovtus.
It took his record to eight wins from eight in the professional ranks and he will now be looking for bigger and better fights in the New Year.

Hide AdUkranian Sovtus took some big hits and kept going to provide a test for the Dewsbury man, but was never in the same class as Akbar who was a decorated amateur boxer before turning to the paid ranks.
The match was made at welterweight and went the full six rounds with “The Prodigy’s” supporters describing their man’s performance as “slick”.
The contest was on the undercard before the main event of the “A Storm Is Coming” show, which featured Danny Quartermaine and Jack Bateson in a full blooded clash.
It was Akbar’s second contest since he signed a multi-fight contract with GBM earlier this year. In his first he beat Fernando Mosquera on points at the end of September on the ‘Nowhere To Hide’ bill in Sheffield.
