Bierley beat Heaton to move up to third place

Bierley are nine points behind new leaders Pudsey St Lawrence, who overcame New Farnley in the only other top flight game to be concluded.

East Bierley made a useful 214-6 in a match reduced to 40 overs per side as openers James Ford (47) and Mark Gill (36) produced a first-wicket stand of 86.

Richard Atkins (43), Neil Gill (43no) and Danish Hussain (35) all chipped in with useful runs, while left-arm spinner Ben Elvidge (4-56) again proved to be Hanging Heaton’s most effective bowler.

Hanging Heaton captain Gary Fellows made 63 in reply but as the visitors chased quick runs in the gathering gloom, wickets began to fall.

Left-arm spinner Luke Jarvis took 5-31 and new overseas player Haziq Tareen 3-41 as Heaton were bowled out for 191 and Bierley recorded a first win of the season.

Champions Cleckheaton looked to be batting themselves into a strong position before the weather halted their clash with Lightcliffe.

St Lawrence moved five points clear of previous leaders Bradford and Bingley following a five-wicket win over New Farnley.

Yorkshire wicketkeeper Andrew Hodd made 72 on his debut but Farnley slipped from 156-4 to 190 all out as leg spinner Tom Hudson claimed 6-37.

Lawrence opener Adam Waite (69) and wicketkeeper Matthew Duce (33) guided them to victory.

Leaders Bradford & Bingley managed just 5.3 overs against Undercliffe who were 23-1 when rain stopped play.

Gomersal’s Joel Pollard claimed 3-46 as Yeadon reached 129-5 from 33 overs with Damon Gormley (47) and Jake Wray (37) the main Yeadon contributors before play was halted.

Bowling Old Lane made a brisk start against Spen Victoria as Tahir Khan made 58 of their 120-3, while Baildon were 148-4 against Brighouse when rain stopped play.
