Batley Nash hit 10 again

BATLEY Irish Nash hit double figures for the second week running as the Heavy Woollen Sunday League Division Three leaders hammered Overthorpe Town Reserves 10-0.

Sean Housecroft led the way with four goals, Robert Lunan bagged a brace, while Phil Irvine, Chris Renshaw, Danny McDaid and Tony Endeacott all scored for the Nash, who are two points clear of second placed Railway East Ardsley.

Railway kept up the pressure as they had Steve Nicholl (two), Chris Nock, Sean Hammill and Ashley Brookes to thank for a 5-1 win over St John Fisher Reserves (Dominic Simpson).

Heckmondwike Sports Club and Thornhill played out a goalless draw, while Snowden won 3-2 at home to West End Rangers.

Jamie Baulk was in superb form as he netted five goals in Crown Leeds Road Reserves’ 6-3 victory at Northorpe United. Robert Stevenson hit the other with Jamie Rodger, Matt Bellwood and Jason Butterworth replying.
