Batley earn maximum points at Liversedge

Batley’s latest victims were Liversedge as they racked up a maximum 20-point win with a convincing 136-run success.

Batley’s impressive total of 250 was built around the contributions of Asif Ayub (64), Aqeel Mukhtar (45), Tariq Mehboob (38) and Aqsad Ali (37). Steve Lane was the pick of the Liversedge bowlers with 4-63.

Mark Hydes (42) top scored in reply but Liversedge were bowed out for 114 as Muhammed Shahnawaz (3-25) and Tariq Hussain (3-7) shone.

Batley are 21 points ahead of Undercliffe who showed no mercy for their lowly neighbours Idle as they romped to a 10-wicket win.

Birstall remain in eighth place after a three-wicket defeat to Yeadon.

Opener Craig Wood (33) led the way for Birstall but they were dismissed for 126 as Michael Hunter claimed 4-38, while Taine Jolley picked up a hat-trick on his way to 3-27.

Birstall fought back as Wood took 4-42 but Damon Gormley made a crucial 44 to see Yeadon home.

Ossett earned an eight-wicket win over Baildon, thanks largely to Khalid Usman’s century.

Jonny Reynolds hit an unbeaten 92, while openers Chris Reynolds (50) and Jack Hainsworth (40) also made useful runs in Baildon’s 230-6.

Usman took control of the reply, hitting three sixes and 14 fours in his 106 not out.

Former Baildon opener Harvey Anderson (69) supported as Ossett won with 7.2 overs to spare.

Third-placed Hunslet Nelson dismissed Keighley for just 70 before edging home by three wickets.

Keighley openers Andy Wear (19) and Luke Chapman (19) shared a stand of 32, but once they were parted, the innings disintegrated as all ten wickets fell for just 38 runs as Max Chappel (6-25) and Derrick Hammill (4-18) impressed.

Nelson were reduced to 44-5 as Maaiz Khan took 3-10, but Chris Anderson’s 29 helped them secure victory.
