Siddal broke the deadlock with a well worked try in the corner but Batley stuck to their game plan, with Dylan Waterworth trying to control play in boggy conditions.

Batley pressure was rewarded five minutes before half-time when Thomas Fisher stepped through the defence from acting half-back and sent Levi Edwards on a run to the corner for an unconverted try.

Despite strong running from Joshua Rhodes, Joshua Stones and Louis Tarpey, the sides went into half-time level at 4-4.

Batley started the second half better, with strong running from Kaiden Smith and Lewis Hartley.
