The top five teams are separated by just six points and even St Michael’s, in sixth place, are now only 11 points adrift of the top two.

Bajan batsman Neil Browne smashed a sensational 156 as Hopton Mills racked up 294-7 against St Michael’s.

Browne’s entertaining knock included 13 fours and nine sixes but despite support from Ashley Mackereth (56) and Stephen Bland (42no) it wasn’t enough to prevent defeat.

James Cooper led the St Michael’s reply with 91, while Alex Leyshon (44), Marcus Leyshon (33), Ryan Wilby (31), John Bowett (34) and Michaelm Halloran (28no) contributed to the successful run chase as Wakefield won with 29 balls to spare.

Liversedge are third, three points behind the top two, following a five-wicket win over East Ardsley.

Louie Hurley (53) and Ashley Pearson (56) guided Ardsley to 210-7, with Simon Kay (4-50) and Graeme Winn (3-62) sharing the wickets.

Paul Sackley hit 17 fours and three sixes in an excellent century.

Support came from Alan Sumner (37) and Suknit Raman (26no) as Liversedge earned a vital win to boost their title hopes.

Azaad (194-9) moved joint top thanks to a 134-run win over bottom side Caribbean (60 all out).

Northowram Fields are a point behind Liversedge in fourth after a one-wicket win over Oulton.

Northowram were reduced to 81-7 in reply to Oulton’s 179 all out before Dewsbury Rams coach Glenn Morrison (25) and Shakeel Mahmood (52) shared an 84-run eighth wicket stand to put them on course for victory.

Great Preston are four points clear of East Leeds at the top of Division One after they dismissed Rodley for 86 and completed a 10-wicket win last Saturday.

East Leeds kept in touch with the leaders after posting 251-8, with Shamoon Mushtaq (95) top scoring and then dismissing Gildersome for 89.
