Waz Nazir hit 44 in reply but Birstall were dismissed for 168 as Chris Leaf (4-39) and Glynn (3-42) impressed.

Hopton Mills are the new Championship leaders following their crushing eight-wicket win over Oulton.

Liversedge earned their first win of the season as they overcame previous leaders Azaad by 12 runs to move level on 12 points with Oulton.

Neil Browne (4-18) and Ashley Mackereth (3-23) helped dismiss Oulton for just 71 before Mackereth made 34 as Hopton required just 13 overs to reach their target.

Hopton and Azaad are level on 17 points with Northowram Fields and Wakefield St Michael’s just a point behind following wins over East Ardsley and Caribbean respectively.

Mirfield took advantage of Great Preston’s week off to move within two points of the second placed team in Division One.

Alex Pearson had a tremendous game as he followed up 4-40 with the ball by hitting a splendid 130 not out as Mirfield overhauled Rodley’s impressive total of 216-9 to win by two wickets.

Crossbank Methodists are still seeking their first win after they went down by six wickets to leaders East Leeds.

Paul James (69) top scored in Crossbank’s 155 all out, of which Khalil Liaquat claimed 5-36.

Gary Sagar hit 79 in reply to steer East Leeds to a comfortable win which sees them eight points clear at the top.
