Batley A made light work of visitors Caribbean in a stunning eight-wicket win in Central Yorkshire Division 2.

Mohammed Munir (5-16) and Junaid Sidat (3-37) demolished the Caribbean innings that came to an end on 160 all out.

The home side turned the screw with the bat and Imran Mayat’s dynamic 105 not out and Zubayr Karolia’s unbeaten 40 sent Batley romping to 164-2 in less than 22 overs.

Mirfield Parish Cavaliers A were thumped by 143 runs by Carlton A.

David Blakeley claimed a couple of wickets but Carlton’s imposing 309-6 eclipsed Cavaliers’ reply despite the efforts of James Hardcastle (32 not out).

It was a similar story for Thornhill who went down by 106 runs at home to Azaad.

Thornhill’s Richard Smith (3-41), William Atkin (3-57) and Aamir Adam (2-67) limited the visitors to 208-9 but the hosts could only muster 102 in reply.

Birstall A celebrated a three-wicket win at Wrenthorpe A, who were limited to 130-9 by Adil Taj (4-23).

Ben Twohig then led from the front with 82 not out as Birstall hit 131-7.

In Division 4, Dominic Hunt’s 6-51 kept East Leeds A at bay on 80-9 before Hopton Mills A eased to 83-4.

Thornhill A were extremely impressive in a 40-run triumph at Rodley A.

Makbul Patel’s 79 caught the eye in Thornhill’s fine innings of 235-8.

Mohammed Baig then took the game to Rodley’s batsmen and took 6-52 to send the hosts back to the pavilion on 195 all out.

Mirfield A edged Westwood Park by nine runs in a high-scoring encounter.

Steven Kirby (75), Patrick Neal (42) and Matthew Haigh (45) all starred for Mirfield and engineered 229-8.

The hosts made a valiant effort in reply but Sufiyan Zaman (3-31) led the Mirfield bowlers who ended Park’s hopes on 221.

Liversedge A out-classed Adwalton A in a 95-run victory. Rishikesh Bhuskute (53) top-scored in the Liversedge total of 207-6 and the visitors slumped to 112 all out with Arshad Ali (3-22) impressing with the ball.
