Two men were asked to leave the Commercial pub and got into an argument with the staff member between 1am-1.25am on Bank Holiday Monday.

One of the men then punched her in the face once. After they were thrown out, the men stayed outside shouting and swearing, banging on the windows and kicking the door several times, causing damage.

The men are described as white and in their late 20s. One of the men was around 6ft tall, of slim build with short, mousey brown hair. The other was around 5ft 9ins tall, of well-built and muscular build with short dark hair.

PC Christopher Birkenshaw, of Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The two men participated in karaoke at the pub earlier in the evening and introduced themselves as Scott and Niall.

“We would ask anyone who was in the pub that night, who has not already spoken to us, who might have any information about who these men are to make contact. They can call Batley and Spen NPT on 101.”
