A Dewsbury woman has been charged with four offences following a fatal collision with a cyclist last November.

Emma Egan, 26, was charged yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) with causing death by dangerous driving, driving while over the prescribed limit, failing to stop at the scene and failing to report a road traffic collision.

She has been released on bail to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 15.

Two men, who were on bail in connection with the collision, have now been released due to insufficient evidence.

The incident happened at around 8am on Sunday, November 3 2013, in Sheffield, involving a pedal cycle and a black Vauxhall Astra.

The cyclist, Eric Codling, 55, from Millhouses, Sheffield, was taken to hospital but later died.
