Collegians member Noel Rigg said: “Michael has been advising the Wicked Witch about tricks for the show, such as throwing fire at the scarecrow.”

But the witches tricks aren’t the only special effects being used to make the musical show one to remember.

“The set designers Malcolm Kenyon and Howard Goalby have been working very hard with our producer Mike Kirkby have on this aspect of the show and we are expecting great results,” said Mr Rigg.

“The group is using film projection is some parts to give an extra dimension to the performance and we hope to have a very special yellow brick road to come out into the audience too.

“We want to make it a really special production.”
