Wheelie good effort folks!
HARD-riding cyclists from Mirfield have raised thousands for two good causes.
Members of Mirfield Masonic Lodge, along with guests, biked the 84 miles back home from Scarborough to help Macmillan Cancer Support and Kirkwood Hospice. The party left Scarborough just after 8am and got back to the Lodge in Mirfield around 5.30pm, rounding off the day with a pie and pea supper.
Lodge member John Halliwell said it was thought around £4,000 has been raised.
“So that’s a very good total,” he said.
Mr Halliwell said many people from neighbouring lodges had donated and he thanked Barclays Bank at Batley, which helped with arrangements and gave contributions from a raffle at the branch.
