Three day yellow weather warning of snow and ice issued for Yorkshire - forecast in full as snow predicted across North and West Yorkshire

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning which covers all of West and North Yorkshire, including Harrogate, Ripon, Scarborough, Leeds, Wakefield and Halifax.

The alert, which will be in place from 9pm on Monday, February 1 until midnight on Wednesday, February 3, warns of a risk of snow and ice.

Travel disruption and road closures are expected, and there are warnings that some rural communities could be cut off if heavy snow arrives.

The county was subject to several days of snow earlier in the month, as well as rain and flooding caused by Storm Christoph.

What is the forecast for my area?

In West Yorkshire, low temperatures are forecast across the weekend, before snow arrives early in the week.

On Saturday and Sunday, temperatures will reach highs of 4°C, before dropping to lows of -1°C on Monday.

Snow, sleet and rain are forecast to arrive in the early hours on Tuesday, with isolated wintry showers turning to rain later in the day.

In Harrogate, Ripon and North Yorkshire, a cold and crisp weekend is expected, with heavy cloud and patches of sun on a mostly dry day.

Cloud will thicken on Sunday, with isolated, wintry showers on Monday before snow on Tuesday and Wednesday, turning into rain later in the day.
