Vicky Greenwood, who runs Oggles Hedgehog Rehabilitation and Rescue Centre, was given £355 by the Co-operative Community Fund.

The cash will help Vicky pay for food, vets bills and heating pads for her prickly friends. She looks after around 80 hedgehogs, as well as a sparrow and two pigeons, from her home in Dewsbury Moor.

Vicky, who initially set herself a 15 hedgehog maximum when she started in 2010, aims to release as many as possible back into the wild once they are nursed back to health.

Watch the video to hear Vicky talking about one of her newest patients, Snoopy, who was found in a bad state in a Mirfield garden at two weeks old.
