Valentine treat

Congratulations to readers Gerald and Pauline Ramsbottom who will be celebrating Valentine’s Day in style after winning our reporter Series Valentine competition.

The couple will enjoy a romantic dinner at the Gomersal Park Hotel next Friday, followed by an overnight stay and a full English breakfast, in a package worth £200.

A delighted Pauline said: “I never expected to win! We’re really looking forward to it.”

Entrants were asked to tell us their love story, and why they deserved to win the prize.

Pauline, of Gomersal, said: “I met my husband when I was 17 and he was 19. We married and had three lovely children. Four years ago we were both diagnosed with cancer and went through gruelling chemotherapy. Mercifully we are now both in remission and looking forward to our golden wedding in December.”

Runners-up are Christine and Stuart Megson of Cleckheaton who will enjoy a mouthwatering five -course Valentine dinner at the Bangla Lounge in Birstall.
