UPDATE:Leeds city centre road closures planned this afternoon

The planned closure of roads around Bridgewater Place in central Leeds because of high winds has been pushed back until 5pm.

The Bridgewater Place junction will be closed from that time due to predicted high winds of up to 60mph.

Anyone working in the area is being advised to stagger journeys home and people should be aware that pedestrians as well as traffic will be diverted from the junction of Water Lane, Victoria Road and Neville Street.

It is expected that the diversions will need to be in place until the early hours of the morning, sometime from 2am-4am.
