UPDATED: Investigation continues after body found in bushes

Detectives are still investigating the discovery of a body found in bushes on a retail park in Wakefield city centre.

Police say enquiries are ongoing into the death of the 42-year-old man, whose body was found on Tuesday at the Cathedral Retail Park.

But they said there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A post mortem was carried out on Wednesday.

Officers were called to the park at around 1pm on Tuesday after reports of the body of a man being found in bushes.

A police spokesman said: “Enquiries remain ongoing into the death but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.”
