UPDATE - Man struck by train at Batley Train Station was from Dewsbury

British Transport Police (BTP) has confirmed the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

It is thought the man, who has not been identified, was struck by the 2.35pm Manchester Airport to Middlesbrough train.

A spokeswoman said: “BTP and West Yorkshire police officers attended, alongside paramedics from the Yorkshire Ambulance service, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Services between Dewsbury and Leeds were disrupted from 4pm with delays of around an hour lasting until the evening.
