Update: Man appears in court after stabbing in Dewsbury

A man has appear in court today (Tuesday) after a woman was stabbed in Dewsbury.

Police were called to a home in St Paulinus Close, Westtown, yesterday lunchtime.

A 60-year-old woman was taken to Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield where she is in a stable condition.

Peter Andrew Day, 50, of no fixed address, appeared before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court in Huddersfield this morning charged with wounding with intent.

He was remanded into custody until a hearing at Leeds Crown Court on June 24.
