Two ‘screamers’ in one day!
Just four hours after his wife, Danielle, had given birth to their daughter, Rob scored a screamer to help Ossett Town topple Bradford City in a friendly.
Rob, 27, who lives in Westbrook Terrace, Batley, rushed his wife to hospital after she went into labour last Monday at 3.30am.

He said: “After Matilda was born, my wife looked up at me and said ‘you really want to play, don’t you?’ I said ‘yes’, so she told me to go.”
Rob set off at 6.20pm, just an hour before kick-off time, and arrived at the ground not a minute too soon, taking part in a quick-fire warm-up before taking to the pitch.
Playing up front against a team mostly made up of Football League pros proved tough at first for Rob.

“I had been awake for 26 hours, so by the time I took the free kick, I was so tired. It was on the touchline, about 35 yards away from the goal. The manager saw that their goalkeeper was off his line, and shouted ‘It’s on!’
“I thought ‘why not, I’m being substituted in a minute’, and it ended up flying in.”
