JOIN THE TEAM: Trolley Volunteers Nicolino Attardo and Amber Wood from Pinderfields Hospital.

The Trust currently has a team of trolley volunteers at Dewsbury, who carry out four-hour shifts taking books, newspapers and refreshments to those who are bed-bound.

The Trust’s Voluntary Services team is extremely keen to recruit more volunteers to continue to support this service at both Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield and Pontefract Hospital.

A spokesman at the Trust said: “Applying to become a volunteer at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is easy, and accredited training and a warm welcome is guaranteed.

“Amongst the roles volunteers undertake are hospital guiding, chaplaincy, cafe and a variety of ward and departmental roles including A&E.

“All that is asked is that you are committed and friendly.

“If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or want to find out more please email [email protected] or phone 01924 543451.”
