Jo Addison and her husband Tim spent their twenties exploring South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and South America.

And when Jo gave birth to their first child, Matthew, three years ago, she was keen to ensure their adventures would continue as a family.

“I started thinking about setting up a website to give advice and encouragement to parents with children and toddlers who were thinking about going on holiday with kids – what to do, where to go, where to stay,” Jo, of Lower Lane, Gomersal, said.

The result was kiddieholidays.co.uk – which offers destination guides, accomodation reccomendations and hints and tips for short breaks, holidays and days out in the UK and around the world.

Jo, who works in marketing, was determined to help parents worried about the stress of travelling with young children, from what to pack to where to go and how to keep their little ones amused.

She said: “You can have so many adventures, you just have to plan a bit differently, and give yourself more time and do more research.

“When you’re trying to do something for the first time it’s daunting.”

Jo, Tim, Matthew and new arrival Daniel, aged seven months, enjoyed a family holiday to Bavaria, Germany in June.

“I still want to bring up my children seeing the world out there and the website will encourage us,” Jo added. “Tim’s absolutely passionate about travel as well, it’s something we both love doing. We’re already starting to think about next year’s plans.”
