Update: Woman named in Wyke hit and run incident

The woman who was killed in a hit and run incident in Wyke has been named by police.

Victoria Holland, aged 28, from the Scholes area, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary after she was struck by a Toyota Corolla on the A58 Whitehall Road, Wyke but later died.

A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police Constable Martin Ward, from West Yorkshire Police’s Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The incident occurred around 2.30am when a Toyota Corolla vehicle, which was travelling in the direction of Halifax, struck the pedestrian as she crossed the road close to the junction with Westfield Lane.”

The Major Collision Enquiry Team is investigating the collision and is asking for any witnesses to contact them on 101.
