Man hit by car in Dewsbury taken to hospital with serious injuries

A man who was hit by a car in Dewsbury was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries.

The collision happened at 5.30pm om November 13 on Overthorpe Road at the junction with Slaithwaite Road.

A silver Toyota Corolla was travelling from Dewsbury on Slaithewaite Road and turned right onto Overthorpe Road when the car hit a pedestrian.

The 70-year-old male pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The road was closed whilst emergency services were at the scene, but reopened around 1am the next morning.
