Crews attend tyre fire in Dewsbury

Thick black smoke billowed into the night skies of Dewsbury due to a tyre fire.

The incident, involving 40 tyres and other loose refuse, happened outside a commercial premises on Lock Street at 01.01am.

Two appliances from Dewsbury attended and used two hose reels to extinguish the flames.

Nobody was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters were at the scene for around an hour.
