Traffic delays set to hit when police escort abnormal load
The lorry is due to carry the generator, which is nearly 70m long, from Goole Docks to Kirkstall electricity sub station on Sunday July 17.

Hide AdIt is due to enter Leeds from Junction 28 of the M62 at around 11am and is scheduled the site at Kirkstall at approximately 1pm.
The journey has been organised by National Grid with approval from West Yorkshire Police and Leeds City Council.
The lorry will move slowly and will be escorted by six police vehicles to ensure safety and to co-ordinate any special manoeuvres required along the route.

Hide AdA Leeds City Council spokesman said: “Due to the size and travelling speed of this vehicle all road users are advised to use alternate routes where possible as its movement will cause significant delays.”
The route the vehicle will take in the city is – M62 Motorway West bound at J28 Tingley, turn right along the A653, continue to the A6110 Ring Road (Beeston/ Wortley/ Farnley), turn left and join A647 Stanningley By Pass, turn right to B6157 Bradford Road/ Town Street Stanningley, turn left Swinnow Lane, turn right Broad Lane, turn right Wyther Lane and then left through the access gates to site at Kirkstall.
