A boy aged three has been hurt in a hit-and-run in Batley town centre.
The accident happened early this afternoon (Friday) when the boy and his mum were close to the crossing near Batley Town Hall.
An eyewitness said: “The little boy stepped out and was hit by the car. He just seemed to bounce off it.
“Fortunately he seemed to be all right - he was crying but conscious - and he was with his mum.
“But the car didn’t stop - it sped off down Commercial Street towards Dewsbury.”
He said the car was dark coloured, possibly a Vauxhall Astra.
