Top award for swimmer Philip

A Mirfield man has come out on top in a long-distance swimming awards ceremony.

Philip Yorke won the Breaststroke trophy at the British Long Distance Swimming Association Annual Dinner for taking part in 8 swimming events and completing 39.38 miles. Despite swimming breaststroke Philips abilities and determination saw him finish 8th in the published list of the senior Swimming Grand Prix.

Among his achievements, he took part in a channel swim in 2013 as part of a relay team, received the Bedford trophy for Windermere Last Man Home race and swam at the Budworth Mere Championships and City of Liverpool events.
