Tools stash found at flat

The raid followed reports that in the early hours of Friday morning three men had been seen entering the St Matthew’s in Cemetery Road carrying a large hoard, including ladders and other DIY equipment.

Officers found 22 items inside a flat at the centre. The items were all seized and the three men were arrested on suspicion of theft. They are now on bail pending further inquiries and police have released details of the suspected stolen items in a bid to trace their owners.

PC Neil Williams said: “If anyone can identify any of it as theirs, which has perhaps been stolen from a shed or garage which hasn’t been noticed yet, they should contact the NPT office at Dewsbury with details of the property, where it was stored, when it was noticed it was missing and any proof of ownership that can be produced.

“Callers will be spoken to by our officers and, if they can identify the property, we will look to have it returned to them as soon as possible.”

Seized from the flat were: A three-tiered aluminium ladder; two silver coloured bath and shower connectors; silver coloured mixer tap and shower head; two yellow coloured taps; an unnamed battery pack; drill chuck; three B&Q battery packs; Nikod battery pack; Performance Power corded hammer drill; Bosch Accutrim trimmer; Flymo Husqvana trimmer; green and black grass trimmer; Fiskars garden fork; B&Q sander; Earlex heat gun; PAG600D angle grinder; B&Q corded jigsaw; and a blue holdall that was used to carry some of the items.
