A NATIONAL shoe retailer with a store in Dewsbury has gone into administration.
Barratts Priceless Group employs more than 3,800 people across the UK.
The Bradford-based retailer has 191 stores trading as Barratts and Priceless Shoes, including the Priceless Shoes branch in Foundry Street, and a further 371 concessions.
Daniel Butters, Neville Kahn and Adrian Berry, partners at business advisory firm Deloitte, have been appointed joint administrators.
Mr Butters said all stores would continue to trade while a buyer was sought for all or parts of the business.
“Barratts and Priceless Shoes have faced a downturn in trading as a result of the difficult economic conditions,” he said. “This has been exacerbated by the unseasonably mild weather in recent weeks which resulted in fewer sales across new winter lines.
“We are working closely with suppliers to ensure the business has the best possible platform to secure a sale, preserve jobs and generate as much value as possible for all creditors.”
