Terry’s work is just hard graft!

A rare glimpse of the Heavy Woollen area’s industrial past is to go on show in a prestigious exhibition.

Cleckheaton author and illustrator Terry Sutton will be exhibiting illustrations and photographs from two books he has already published: Hard Graft - Yorkshire at Work, and Yesterday’s Yorkshire.

It runs from May 4-November 10 at the Bradford Industrial Museum and there will also be pictures from other photographers and archives, as well as a number of rarely seen artefacts from the museum’s own collection.

Terry studied graphic design at the School of Art and Design in Batley, and after working in advertising, he returned to the college as a lecturer.

During the 1970s he began a series of illustrations based on photographs of the changing industrial landscapes as well as trains and transport.
