Teen’s bike stolen from Dewsbury Moor shed

A HARD-WORKING dad has been dealt a blow by thieves who broke into his shed.

Stevan Morton woke up to find that the bike he had saved up to buy for his son had been taken, along with several power tools.

Mr Morton had only just got back on his feet after he was made redundant from his job at a paper company and found himself out-of-work for the first time since leaving school.

He eventually found work serving dinners and cleaning at local schools before getting a full time position clearing empty properties with Kirklees Council.

Eventually he saved up £300 to buy his 16-year-old son, Ben, a brand new mountain bike which was stolen overnight on Monday April 16.

Mr Morton, 47, of Cornfield, Dewsbury Moor, said: “Ben is on a right downer since it happened.

“These people are trying to make Dewsbury Moor worse. I can’t understand why they would do it.”

Two drills, a saw and a set of drill accessories were also stolen from the shed.

Contact police on 101 with any information.
