Soon after last week’s papers went to print, promoter Frank Warren announced he had switched the date and venue for the Sykes-Walsh fight to take place.

The Copper Box Arena was the boxing venue for the 2012 Olympics, which made huge stars out of Luke Campbell, Anthony Joshua and Leeds’ Nicola Adams.

Sykes was back in the gym on Monday and the Walsh double title showdown is now just two days after the Dewsbury star’s 30th birthday.
