Sweet treats support Sam’s Wish to Walk
Broadcaster Christa Ackroyd met up with six-year-old Sam Bottomley at the Yummy Yorkshire Ice Cream Parlour in Denby Dale to try a new flavour which will help raise money for Sam’s charity fund.
For every scoop of Sam’s flavour sold, the parlour will donate 20 per cent to Sam’s Wish to Walk, a fund set up to pay for life-changing surgery to help him walk.

“She is a lovely lady and is very keen to promote Sam’s cause. Sam enjoyed having chocolate ice cream with her and showing her the cows.”
Drinkers at the Flowerpot pub were also treated to a special beer to help the cause.
A barrel of beer, donated by Ossett Brewery, went on sale named Sam’s Wish to Walk, with all takings going to the fund. The beer sold out in under two hours, making more than £375.

When added to other donations taken on the evening, this amounted to more than £500.
