Students and staff walk for charity

Big-hearted staff and students at Kirklees College raised money for charity by doing a sponsored walk.

The hair and beauty team from the college’s Dewsbury Centre, in Halifax Road, walked to the Frontier nightclub in Batley on Monday to raise money for a cervical cancer charity.

They raised more than £300 from the walk.

The college also held other fundraising events including back massages and nail treatments, a raffle, a cake and bun stall and a balloon release in memory of lost loved ones.

Hairdressing tutor Danielle Tedder said: “We were delighted to get so much.

“Thank you to everyone who contributed.”
