A group of 10 business heads - including Asda’s head of communications Dom Birch, have formed an advisory panel, which will help introduce The Juice Academy to Yorkshire.

The Juice Academy, the brainchild of Tangerine PR in Manchester, aims to increase youth employment by training young professionals in the practical application of social media.

Thornhill Community Academy headteacher and Educating Yorkshire star Jonny Mitchell will also be on the panel.

The Juice Academy’s senior project co-ordinator Lucy Adams said: “The feedback we have received from young people and employers in the North West has been overwhelmingly positive since we launched last year.

“Word is spreading fast about the programme, with more and more businesses from outside the North West approaching us to take part.”

Mr Mitchell said: “Social media is such an intrinsic part of the lives of young people today.
