Snake found on the loose
Christine Redfearn and neighbour Catherine Squire spotted the California King Snake “sunbathing” next to a bush in Lees View about 12.15pm.
Ms Redfearn said: “I wanted to pick it up but she wouldn’t let me. It was a bit of a shock really.

Hide AdShe and Catherine called the RSPCA, who told her to ring the police - who then told her to contact the RSPCA.
Eventually, Ms Redfearn rang her granddaughter Courtney Brennan, who works at Morley Exotic Animal Rescue. She and a colleague collected it, and confirmed its name.
“It will stay up there for somebody to claim,” said Christine.
