Loca Creatives, which helps to run art projects, started going into the school in January to hold the sessions. Working with artists Christina Holdsworth and James Allott, the sessions got parents, staff and pupils talking together while getting creative.
Loca Creatives director Tracy Shaw told of the projects’ success.
“From January we had 14 or 15 families that came week in, week out.
“They became a very strong group and made new friends, learned new skills and discovered new ways of doing creative things together,” she said. “People told us that they had started doing more creative things at home.”
The rest of the school’s pupils and parents were invited to an exhibition of the work.
