Six hour spin challenge raises cash for Eden’s Trust

THREE fitness fans put their pedal power to the test with a six-hour spin challenge.

Clara Moore, James Skidmore and Rachael Shaw raised more than £1,180 with their Easter Saturday spin session for cancer charities at Asda in Dewsbury.

Generous shoppers made donations to keep the trio’s spirits up and some even hopped on spare bikes to have a go for themselves.

The bikes were loaned by Dewsbury Sports Centre which gave free guest passes to those who had a spin or made larger donations.

Mrs Shaw, from Westtown, said: “The atmosphere was fantastic and everybody was so giving. We have to say a big thank you to the customers, Eden’s Army, Alex Mellor and Sharon Kingswood.”

Cash raised by the trio will go to Eden’s Trust, which was set up in memory of Mrs Shaw’s daughter who died from cancer in April 2008.

The trust supports two charities, Candlelighters and Children With Cancer.
