Police are appealing for information after a Northern Ireland general service medal was stolen during a burglary in Valley Drive, Thornhill.

PC Richard Shires, from the Kirklees burglary team, said: “The incident occurred around midday on Monday November 3 when the suspects have forced their way into the property and stolen several items, including the service medal.

“This medal holds a great deal of sentimental value to the victim and we want to trace those involved in this burglary so we can reunite this item with the man who earned it.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Shires at Huddersfield Police Station on 101.
